Office 365 Limitations and how we overcome them
In this page we can discuss about the limitations of Office 365. As we know that Office 365 may be a good cloud solution, we also encountered its limitations.

1 | Maximum number of devices connected to a mailbox is 10 | Few people will have personal mobile devices more than 10. Therefore this limitation should not be a major hindrance to many user. |
2 | Maximum total size of an e-mail message. The total size includes the message header, the message body, and any file attachments is 25MB | 25 Mb is already a major improvement to many existing email system in the world. So it should be a breakthrough in technology rather than a limitation. Most email servers allow only about 4 Mb attachment to be sent in a single email |
3 | Maximum number of file attachments allowed in an e-mail message is 125 attachments | Again 125 attachments is a breakthrough in the limit. If any user need to send more than this number, multiple emails can be created. |
4 | Maximum number of text characters allowed in the subject line of an e-mail message is 255 characters | 255 characters comprise of 5 sentences on average. Contents can be placed in the email body for clearer transmission of information. Formatting of text is better in the email body if email composed in HTML format. |
5 | Maximum number of message body parts that are allowed in a MIME multipart message is 250 parts | 250 parts are considerably high in the upper limit. Most users does not hit more than this number in any email single email they sent. If any user need to send more than this number, multiple emails can be created. |
6 | Maximum number of forwarded e-mail messages that are allowed in an e-mail message is 30 messages | If any user need to attached more than 30 messages as attachments, multiple emails can be created. |
7 | Maximum number of message recipients allowed in the To:, Cc:, and Bcc: fields is 500 recipients | 500 recipients are considerably high in the upper limit. Most users does not hit more than this number in any email single email they sent. If any user need to send more than this number, multiple emails can be created. Alternatively, user can consider external source of application to send mass email. |
8 | Maximum number of e-mail messages that can be sent from a single e-mail client per minute is 30. | This limit is set to ease internet traffic congestion both at the server and client’s side. |
9 | Maximum number of recipients that can receive e-mail messages sent from a single cloud-based mailbox in a 24 hour period is 1500 recipients in a day | 1500 recipients are considerably high in the upper limit. Most users does not receive more than this number in any single day. If user needs to have this limit lifted, a request can be sent to Microsoft Technical Support. |
